Volvo Trucks claimed to hold the dominant position in the heavy electric vehicle market at the end of the first quarter of 2023.

It sold 600 electric trucks in Europe, four times as many as in Q1 2022.

Market share grew from 32% to 50%.

It also claimed half of the heavy electric truck sector in North America.

Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the US were leading markets for overall truck registrations during Q1.

Since its initial launch of an electric truck in 2019, Volvo Trucks has sold 5,000 in 40 countries.

It will launch EVs in new markets across Asia, Latin America, and Africa this year.
